Slow down for a moment to enjoy peacefulnature and pampering treatments.
The story of Anttolanhovi begins on Anttolan Hovi Hill where the state established a manor for the nobility to collect taxes. The heyday of the manor was in 1917-1920 when the princes Lopukhin and Demidov took refuge from the Russian Revolutionin the remote countryside of Savonia. Prior to the Revolution, the Demidov family had made its living from thousands of acres of farmland in Ukraine as well as local sugar andfurniture factories. The arrival of the royal pair to Anttola was the talk of the village for decades. The worldly goods of the family were carried on barges to the docks from where the long procession continued on to Hovi Hill. Although the Demidovs succeeded in salvaging only a scrap of their fortune from the Revolution, it was enough to astonish the Savonian country folk. However, the royal pair had to give up the manor fairly soon as they were unable to proportion their income and expenditure. Today, Anttolanhovi stands one kilometre away from the old Anttolanhovi Manor on the shores of Lake Saimaa in the midst of Finnish nature. Customers are pampered with luxurious, modern services.
